Creative Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day This Year

It’s here- the most commercialized holiday of the year! Whether you’re celebrating with a significant other or your group of girl friends, the pandemic might impact how you would normally celebrate. If you’re searching for ideas, here's a list of some of my favorite that are pandemic-conscious!

1. Chocolate covered anything!

My favorite Valentine’s Tradition is homemade Chocolate Covered strawberries! But the fun doesn’t have to stop there… chocolate covered marshmallows, bananas, oreos, your imagination is limitless with what you want to cover in chocolate!

2. Virtual Cocktail Classes

If you’ve always wanted to master that perfect cocktail, now is a great chance! Companies like Liquid Lab are offering Zoom tutorial classes to celebrate Valentine’s day. Get creative from the comfort of your own home!

3. Virtual Dance Lessons

On the theme of things you can learn virtually, how about a romantic dance lesson! Find a tutorial on YouTube or sign up for virtual classes through companies like Ballroom Dance Chicago.

4. Swap dinner out for dinner in!

In order to keep it exciting, engage in friendly competition with a cook off! Come up with a menu and see who can wow the other person the most! WInner gets more chocolate covered strawberries!

5. Take a walk!

If you’re in the Madison area, check out this Luminary Walk hosted by Creatability Wisconsin. A beautiful walk on the lake, a campfire, and food!

6. Do some arts and crafts

If you have kids who enjoy crafts, maybe this Art Kit Pick Up can help provide some fun! The recreation department in Fitchburg is hosting a drive-through art kit pick up for children.

7. Get into a duel.... Dueling pianos that is!

Piano Fondue is hosting a six-way Valentine’s Event where the audience gets to select the songs to be played. This will be presented on Facebook Live.

8. Binge-a-thon!

Most streaming services offer a free trial period. If you’re in the market to binge new shows or movies all weekend long, this might be a great way to try new things!

Most of all, Valentine’s day is about showing your love and appreciation. Here at Preferred Wealth Advisors, we love and appreciate all of our amazing clients and friends! We hope you have a love-filled Valentine’s day and enjoy celebrating, however it is that you do!
